The President of the Republic Michel Aoun met a Delegation from the schools’ parent committee Saturday and assured its members that he is closely following-up on the circumstances which accompanied the wage grid endorsement and its impact on the educational sector.
President Michel Aoun disclosed that he has agreed with Prime Minister Saad Hariri to hold an extraordinary cabinet session, in coordination with Higher Education Minister Marwan Hamadeh, to look into the increase in school tuition and teachers’ salaries.
From its part the delegation handed the President a memorandum focusing on “the impact of increasing school tuition on the educational sector in Lebanon.” It included a series of demands to find a solution to the current crisis.
