Geagea: President Aoun is not subordinate to anyway

NNA – Head of the Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea, said on Tuesday that the actual problem hindering the formation of a new Cabinet lies with those who refuse to accept a strong president who is capable of restoring Lebanon’s foreign relations and fortifying the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Speaking to over 500 students from various schools who visited him in Mehrab, Geagea noted that those who reject the new term wish to return to the days of Syrian custodianship.

“They cannot even stand the fact that the President has a say in Cabinet formation.”

Geagea asserted that President Michel Aoun was a strong man that could not be subdued to the will of others.

“This new presidential term can only be measured by the standards of Baabda Palace, the inaugural speech and the Constitution upon which the president has sworn.”

The LF Chief then turned to recent military parade in Jahilya area, stating that the message behind it was a warning to the new President not to “exceed his limits.”

“Some do not want to have a president who thinks or even repairs Lebanon’s foreign relations…General Michel Aoun began restoring these relations,” Geagea said.
