Rahi urges officials to put their interests away to undertake any initiative

– Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi called on all politicians to rise above their personal interests and narrow calculations if they want to carry out any beneficial initiative.

Rahi, whose words came during Sunday mass service in Bkirky, expressed that the malfunction of the work of the government and parliament was embodied in the failure to issue a new electoral law and solve salary scale matters.

During the sermon, Rahi appealed to officials in the Lebanese Republic to lift the Lebanese people from their social and economic sufferings.
