Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil arrived in Istanbul Friday to attend an Organization of Islamic Cooperation emergency summit, convened to denounce the recent violence in Gaza and the new U.S. Embassy in occupied Jerusalem.
The summit was set to convene Friday afternoon at the request of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, bringing together the pan-Islamic organization for the second time in half a year to demonstrate solidarity with Palestinians and condemn Israel’s deadly shooting of Gaza protesters.
