On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Lebanese President Michel Aoun stressed that Lebanon’s victory over terrorism embodies the meaning of al-Adha, “this holiday teaches us that there are values worth sacrificing for, chief among which is freedom and that sacrifice is a personal decision.”
On the 97th anniversary of the declaration of the State of Greater Lebanon, the president stressed that Lebanon was and will always be great, not because of its territories but because of its values, message and sacrifices presented for its sake.
The president called on the authorities to launch an investigation to determine the responsibilities in the events faced by the Lebanese Armed Forces, in respect to the truth, the martyrs’ families and so that no innocent will be convicted and no criminal will be acquitted.
“Only the truth can liberate!” concluded the president.
