Kanaan: Holding parliamentary polls based on 1960 law unacceptable

“Change and Reform” bloc Secretary, Deputy Ibrahim Kanaan, said on Friday that “we should not use the delay in the process of forming the government as a pretext for the adoption of the 1960 electoral law”.

Kanaan said in an interview to “LBC” TV, the adoption of the 1960 law is “unacceptable”, neither on the constitutional nor the political level.

As for the government, he finally demanded respect for the prerogatives of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate on this subject.
