A patrol of the army intelligence directorate in the town of Arsal arrested on Saturday afternoon, the former mayor of Arsal Ali al-Hujeiri, known as “Abu Ajina” on the background of the kidnapping and killing of the Lebanese army soldiers in 2014.
Al-Hujeiri was summoned for questioning, and he was personally present to make his statement. In the light of the investigation, the necessary measures will be taken said the Lebanese army source.
In a related context, the Intelligence Directorate seized a cache of ammunition in the Arsal area. Inside the cache, the army found mortar shells, multi-type missiles and explosive devices intended for detonation.
