President Michel Aoun pledged Thursday that he “will not allow any foreign party to interfere in the Lebanese domestic affairs.”
During a meeting with a delegation from the national media council, Aoun also noted that the stances he has been declaring “do not discriminate between one Lebanese group and another” but are rather aimed at “preserving Lebanon’s unity and domestic solidarity in the face of possible external attacks.”
The president also reiterated that he will not allow anyone to “violate the constitution and laws” during his tenure, noting that “there are positive indications in the efforts to agree on a new electoral law.”
