MP Ibrahim Kanaan told Voice of Lebanon radio on Sunday that the clamor that surrounded wage scale discussions aimed at demonizing the file in order to destabilize the entire issue.
The MP confirmed that the report of the committee pinpointed the costs and reforms required, and that none of the parliamentary blocs objected to it. However, a campaign of lies and rumors arose to cheat people out of their rights.
Kanaan attributed these lies to attempts by some at electoral gains.
“As long as a law has not been decreed and published in the official newspaper, then any augmentation in prices is subject to administrative and legal prosecution.”
