NNA – Member of the Democratic Gathering, MP Henri Helou, received on Thursday a delegation of the Free Patriotic Movement comprised of Minister of Education and Higher Learning, Elias Bou Saab, and MPs Simon Abi Ramia, Hikmat Dib, Ziad Aswad and Naji Gharios.
In the wake of the meeting, Minister Bou Saab deemed the position of Deputy Helou last Wednesday as “responsible and coming from high patriotic sense.”
“The door is open to consultation”, he said, adding that the decision which MP Helou could make regarding the presidential issue could be after the next meeting between General Michel Aoun and MP Walid Jumblatt.
The minister also stressed that dialogue was ongoing with all political groups, to ensure, as much as possible, unanimity for the upcoming stage.
“Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, is a real and essential partner,” stated Bou Saab.
Helou, for its part, announced that the decision over the presidential issue will be taken after the next Democratic Gathering bloc meeting.
The MP also said that the interest of the country was more important than personal interests.
“I am confident that all parties will cooperate in order to build the State and revive the institutions,” he concluded.
