Designated Prime Minister Saad Hariri reiterated Friday his decision that the Future Movement would prevent its party’s MPs from also serving as Cabinet ministers, in a clear response to MP Nohad-al-Machnouk, but he denied reports speculating about a fallout with the MP Machnouk.
Hariri had announced the decision during an informal chat with multiple local news media Tuesday, which drew criticism from Machnouk, who told the media that PM Saad Hariri has not officially informed him of the decision to separate being a Member of Parliament from being a minister.
Hariri said he had notified “everyone” in the Future Movement and that Machnouk “might have forgotten.” He denied media claims which said there were disagreements between the two.
