President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received on Wednesday at the presidential palace of Baabda, Central Bank Governor, Riyad Salameh with whom he addressed the banking and financial situation in Lebanon.
At the end of the meeting, Salameh said the financial situation was stable.
The President of the Republic then met former Minister, Ibrahim Najjar, with whom he discussed the current situation in the country.
The former minister congratulated the president on his election and on being a true President representing all the Lebanese.
Later, Aoun received the President of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) Rev. Georges Hobeika, at the head of a delegation composed of rectors and directors, who congratulated the new head of state.
At the end of the meeting, Hobeika welcomed the President’s political and military journey which, he said, was intended throughout his career to safeguard Lebanon.
Moreover, President Aoun expressed his condolences in a telegram on behalf of the Lebanese people, sent to the Brazilian President, Michel Temer, for the crash of the plane and the fall of many victims.
