Smoke-filled Paris Metro evacuated after ‘huge explosion’ rocks capital underground ‘leaving at least eight injured’
Police have sealed off the station in the south of the city
A ‘HUGE explosion’ has rocked the Paris metro resulting in dozens of terrified passengers being evacuated.
The colossal blast occurred on Line Six near the Place d’Italie subway station and has reportedly left at least eight people injured.
There are reports that the incident was caused by an electrical fire.
Cops have cordoned off the area as authorities investigate the cause of the explosion.
There have not been any reports of casualties following the blast which rocked the travel hub in the south of the city.
The French capital remains on high alert following the machete attack at the Louvre last week.
