Kanaan to LBCI: Aoun might be elected president in the first round of voting

Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed Sunday that the Lebanese Army would be among top priorities of General Michel Aoun, if he we was elected as president during tomorrow’s presidential election session.

“MP Michel Aoun will work on restoring the rights of all those who have been wronged in the past years,” Kanaan said in an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said.

On another note, Kanaan considered that the Lebanese people should never wait for the intervention of foreign states, adding that the national will could create opportunities.

As for the relationship between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces, the lawmaker confirmed that understanding and achievement with LF will continue.

He added that work is underway to expand the inter-Lebanese convergence.

Commenting on the elections that will be conducted tomorrow, Kanaan said that Aoun might be elected president in the first round of voting as he is expected to get 90 votes.
