- With the protection of state security personnel, and with the support of activists close to her, under the name of “United”, the Attorney General of Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, stormed the offices of Michel Mkattaf, the money changer, and entered. Lawyer Alexander Najjar confronted her that the cassation attorney general, Judge Ghassan Oweidat, issued a decision in the morning to amend the distribution of work at the Public Prosecution Office of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, limiting it to three lawyers for two years only, without the decision noticing Aoun’s name, which means that she has no power in this file. Aoun refused the lawyer’s words, and asked State Security officers to force the employees to hand over data to her on the computers. However, a large judicial authority asked the Director General of State Security, Major General Tony Saliba, to withdraw the officers, considering Aoun had no powers in the file. And this was how Aoun and her companions remained, and a few activists.
Aoun refused to leave the office and insisted on staying even if she had to sleep in the office, as she said, then lawyer Najjar confronted her again that he was welcome to drink coffee and could stay in the office as a judge and a woman. Lawyer Najjar added, “We have submitted a request for dismissal of your right, and there is a new decision to isolate you, but we respect you as a judge, but it is not entitled to interfere in this file.”
She replied: “I do not care about Ghassan Oweidat’s decision, and I didn’t care about the General Administration of registry of cars and motor vehicles, Hoda Salloum, nor the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, nor MP Suleiman Franjieh, so should I care about Ghassan Oweidat? The People is with me.” * - odiaspora.org
