President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, stressed before his interlocutors at Baabda Palace on Wednesday that his prime objective is to build a fair, strong and capable state, noting that constitutes a nationwide workshop which can accommodate all, without exception.
President Aoun stressed the dire need to fortify national unity which constitutes the main deterrent for those attempting to tamper with internal stability, stressing at the same time the need for cooperation of all citizens with the state and its institutions to address standing problems and help in the fight against corruption.
Baabda palace witnessed a series of visitors who took up with the President an array of political, social, developmental and regional matters.
Aoun met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, with talks reportedly dwelling on the current situation and most recent contacts to form cabinet line-up.
Speaking on emerging, Geagea hoped that the Cabinet would be formed prior to the festive holiday, sounding optimistic that matters began to take its natural, concrete and authentic course actual, which shall attain an outcome.
In reply to a question, Geagea stressed that the LF does not stand as an impediment in the face of government formation, hoping that hindrances in this regard would be eliminated as soon as possible.
On the other hand, Aoun met respectively with Economy and Trade Minister, Alan Hakim, MP Mohammed Safadi, MP Ghazi Aridi, National Dialogue Party led by Dr Fouad Makhzoumi, with talks reportedly touching on the overall situation in the country.
Among Baabda Palace’s itinerant visitors for today has been a delegation of al Janan University in Tripoli, and a delegation of Lebanese Armed Forces’ Veterans Association.
