The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, paid a visit this Friday to Dr. Jamil Zogheib at his residence in Jeita, accompanied by General Shamel Roukoz.
Dr. Jamil Zogheib is a pediatrician who, 10 years ago, suffered severe amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) that progressively led to complete paralysis, loss of speech and inability to breathe swallow and smile. He eventually became permanently dependent on machine-induced respiration.
The president expressed his “appreciation for the achievements of Dr. Zogheib, who teaches a lesson of love for life”.
