President Michel Aoun received on Saturday Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Baabda presidential palace, where they discussed some domestic issues and the general situation in the country.
Hariri’s visit to Baabda came on the eve of his travel to Doha to take part in the 17th Doha Forum entitled: “Development, Stability and Refugee issues,” which is a summit that will dwell on the issue of Syrian refugees in countries that host them, among which Lebanon.
The summit will also tackle the issue of terrorism, and the ways to confront extremism.
On an important note, and contrary to what some newspapers have written since Thursday, when Saudi Arabia invited Prime Minister Saad Hariri and not President Michel Aoun to the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, OTV news reported on Saturday that President Michel Aoun himself said that there was no conflict with Prime Minister Hariri and that Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil will accompany Hariri to the summit.
