Sheikh Qassem: Hezbollah Supports Dialogue on Lebanon’s Presidency

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Wednesday that the carrying out presidential elections in Lebanon requires clam dialogues among the different factions, not announcing public stances.

In a meeting with Al-Manar Website staff, Sheikh Qassem added that Hezbollah is not playing the role of the mediator, but encouraging the various Lebanese factions to meet directly.

ISIL ‘Caliphate’ Falls in Mosul

Sheikh Qassem pointed out that Mosul battle is going to eradicate ISIL ‘Caliphate’ in Iraq, adding that the international, regional and local position moves in this direction.

His eminence noted that the US scheme aims at accumulating ISIL terrorists in eastern Syria in order to destabilize the country’s stability, expecting that the American plot would fail.

Turkey and Ottoman Aspirations

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General considered that the statements made by the Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan reflect his Ottoman aspirations which require the demarcation of the borders of all the regional countries in order to be achieved, stressing that such issues are not currently on the table.

Sheikh Qassem added that Turkey merely can participate in the regional operations in order to be part of the political processes and to prevent the Kurds from establishing their state in northern Syria.

Syria-Egypt Military Cooperation

On the Egyptian stance Sheikh Qassem said that Hezbollah the military cooperation between Syria and Egypt has not ever ceased, for Egypt considers that its relation with Syria is one of the basics of its regional policy.

Hezbollah Aims to Sustain Syria “Resistance” State

In a different context, Hezbollah official maintained that the party aims to sustain the Syrian state which supports the resistance, adding that the long-term Russian role supports the government and army in Syria.

His eminence also considered that the Saudi massacre which targeted the funeral hall in Sanaa and claimed hundreds of civilians imposed on the US to press KSA to agree on a humanitarian ceasefire which prepares for a the comprehensive solution.
