The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement condemning the attack on Paris.

“Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Friday strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Avenue “des Champs-Elysées” in the French capital Paris on Thursday evening, April 20, 2017 that left one policeman dead and two others injured.

This criminal terrorist attack against France, timed on the verge of the presidential elections is as an attack on the state, a brutal attack on humanity and on the noble values, and an aggression against the friendly France with which we stand united to confront all forms of violence. The Ministry calls for the consolidation of international efforts to eliminate terrorism and its perpetrators, supporters and instigators that has become a priority for the maintenance of international peace and security.

The Ministry also extends its deepest condolences to the government and the people of France, and to the victim’s family and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.”
