Israeli-Backed Terrorists Suffer Colossal Losses in Syria’s Quneitra

A Syrian military spokesman said Israeli-backed Takfiri militants suffered heavy losses in the southwestern province of Quneitra after Syrian troops killed scores of them in a counterattack.

Jafar Miya, a spokesman for Syria’s Golan Unit Forces, said Syrian troops managed to repel a major attack by Takfiri terrorists in Quneitra on Saturday, killing and injuring dozens of them.

“The Syrian army targeted Takfiris’ positions in Turnejeh, Jubata al-Khashab, al-Khazan al-Shomali, and Kesarat Jubata,” he said, adding that the Golan Unit Forces also destroyed a number of the terrorists’ vehicles with guided missiles.

More than 35 terrorists were injured in the process of clashes in Jubata al-Khashab and later seven Israeli ambulances took them to field hospitals in the southern province of Dara’a, sources said.

Israel and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri militant groups operating inside the Arab country, according to Damascus.

The Syrian army has repeatedly seized huge quantities of Israeli-made weapons and advanced military equipment from the foreign-backed militants in Syria.

Late last year, British media released footage showing Israeli forces treating a wounded Takfiri terrorist in the occupied Golan Heights.

The Israeli regime has saved over 2,000 Takfiri militants at the cost of around USD 13 million over the last three years, added the report of British newspaper Daily Mail published in December 2015.

Syria has been gripped by militancy since March 2011. UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict.
