House Speaker Nabih Berri held talks in Ain El-Tineh on Saturday with Alaeddine Boroujerdi, chairman of the parliamentary committee for national security and foreign policy in Iran, in the presence of Iranian ambassador Mohammad Fateh Ali.
“Discussions focused on bilateral relations on all levels, including parliamentary relations, as well as developments in the region … we also reiterated the need to close ranks to fight terrorism ,” stressed the Iranian official at the end of the meeting. He also noted that a political solution was essential to the crisis in Syria.
Separately, Berri received Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming in the presence of Chinese Ambassador Wang Kejian. Bilateral cooperation was on the agenda.
