Diaspora Committee of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM), Dr. Mark Zabbal, Head of Visiting Delegation to Australia

As part of the new plan to activate the role of the Free Patriotic Movement and with the blessing of the FPM President, Minister Gebran Bassil, Dr. Marc Zabbal, and a delegation composed of Dr. Pascale Chemaly and FPM Jbeils’ District Coordinator Mr. Bassam Ghanem traveled to Australia to attend the organizing conference to be held in Melbourne on 23 and 24 February. Dr. Zabbal will also hold a number of meetings with some Australian parties to develop a vision of cooperation with FPM.

Dr. Zabbal also visited the premises of the Al-Nahar newspaper in Sydney, accompanied by the delegation and FPM officials in Australia, where he met with the owner and editor, Anwar Harb, and discussed how the media relay information on political and social events in Lebanon.

Subsequently, Dr. Marc Zabbal met with the Consul General in Sydney, Mr. Charbel Maacaroun, and thanked him for the reception and his efforts done for the Lebanese community in Australia.

The coordinator and the delegation paid a visit to the President of St. Charbel Monastery, Fr. Louis Al-Farkh, where there was an exchange on issues related to the Lebanese in Australia.

The tour ended with a visit to the Maronite Archbishop’s Palace in Sydney to meet with Archbishop Antoine Charbel Tarbih in the presence of Archbishop Marcelino Joseph who spoke to the Lebanese community in Australia and to ensure that they are the breeding ground of the Lebanese diaspora.
