The head of the Free Patriotic Movement leader, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Gebran Bassil held the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting Tuesday followed by a press conference; This is a brief of what Minister Bassil said:
– “Some are trying to suggest that ISIS and Al-Nusra are supported by Hezbollah. We respond by telling them that high officials have admitted that western and eastern foreign countries are the ones supporting the extremists.”
– “I tell the Lebanese people to enjoy the victory and I urge everyone to allow us to celebrate it before forcing us to fight over it.”
– “The victory is for all Lebanon and all the Lebanese. Let us all bid farewell to our martyrs with dignity and I invite the FPM supporters to participate in the celebration abundantly.”
– “The position of the Free Patriotic Movement in the cabinet in 2014 is well known for refusing the unlawful extension of the mandate of LAF commander.”
– “Do you understand, fellow Lebanese why we insisted on having a new Commander for the army?”
– “We should benefit from the victory of the battle and refuse to keep terrorist cells inside the refugee camps and in Ain el-Helwe camp.”
– “To those who have allowed terrorism in the past, I tell them to remain silent today and repent their sins by helping solving the displacement issue.” The FPM’s leader concluded.
