Syrian, Russian Warplanes Continue to Bomb Terrorist Centers in Aleppo

Syrian and Russian warplanes continued to target terrorist groups’ concentration centers in at least seven districts of Aleppo city, paving the way for the ground troops to raid militants’ positions.

Syrian and Russian fighter jets, for the second day in a row, pounded terrorists’ strongholds in Sheikh Saeed, al-Sakri, al-Ameriyeh, al-Kelaseh, Bustan al-Qasr and the Old Aleppo, while the Syrian Army’s artillery units shelled militants’ positions heavily in the same districts.

“Positions of Fatah al-Sham (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) in al-Rashedeen district in Western part of Aleppo city came under the heavy bombardments of the Syrian and Russian fighter jets,” army sources said.

“This is a collective operation. Air and artillery units’ attacks are only parts of a large-scale operation against terrorists in Eastern districts of Aleppo city, which will last for several days to push the militants back from the city,” the sources underlined.

Other sources in Northern Aleppo said that the Syrian army soldiers have advanced against terrorist near Handarat camp.

On Friday, Syrian and Russian fighter jets carried out at least 30 combat flights over terrorists’ positions in different parts of Aleppo, inflicting major losses and heavy casualties on the militants.

“Syrian and Russian jets targeted terrorists’ sites and defense lines in the districts of al-Kelaseh, al-Ma’adi, al-Zabdiyeh, al-Halak, al-Sakhour, Sheikh Khazar, Karam al-Tahan, al-Mashhad, al-Mowaselat, Old Aleppo, al-Ansari al-Sharghi, al-Marjeh and the road connecting al-Bab to Qaterchi, leaving scores of fighters dead or wounded,” opposition sources said.
