Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun said on Tuesday that the bloc’s ministers will challenge all decrees issued during last Thursday’s Cabinet session.
Aoun’s comments were made following the bloc’s weekly meeting in Rabieh whereby he noted that the top priority during next dialogue session set on September 5 should be the interpretation of the National Pact.
“The presidency is stuck between contradicting conceptions of the National Pact,” he added.
He concluded by saying that there is a discretion in dealing with the appointments issues.
Last week, ministers of the Free Patriotic Movement boycotted the cabinet meeting which they say is linked to the controversial issue of military and security appointments.
Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.
The MPs of Hezbollah, Free Patriotic Movement founder Michel Aoun’s Change and Reform bloc and some of their allies have been boycotting the parliament’s electoral sessions, stripping them of the needed quorum.
