Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Alexandria and Jerusalem for Melkite Catholics, Gregory III Lahham, addressed, on Saturday, a message to Aleppo and Syrians, and Christians in particular, entitled: “Peace is coming to Syria, following peace in Aleppo.”
“On the occasion of the Holy Christmas Season, I address a greeting of peace to steadfast Aleppo, through the steadfastness of its entire people, in my name and on behalf of the Council of Heads of Catholic Churches in Syria. I hope to visit Aleppo with our fellow bishops at the suitable time,” said Lahham.
He sent out a message of hope to all Syrians, especially Christians celebrating this glorious Holiday Season, saying: “Syria, peace is coming! And that will be through the concerted efforts and solidarity of all the sons and daughters of Syria.”
“We thank God for the victory of Aleppo. We pray for the victims. We comfort the saddened and ask for healing for the patients. We pray especially for our military men and all those who support them for the sake of achieving victory and peace in Syria,” the Patriarch concluded.
