NNA – Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul-Latif Derian called on Sunday for the return to the national constants and values, “so that the country becomes stable and the coexistence is preserved among the Lebanese.”
Mufti’s stance came during a ceremony held in his honor in Dhour Abadieh in the presence of political, social, cultural, military, and religious figures.
Derian said that “we must confront those who attempt to draw a distorted image of Islam and Muslims.”
“We remark that political discourse is no longer moderate and it is full of tensions,” he added.
“Do not think that moderation is a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength,” he concluded.
