Defense Minister, Yaacoub Sarraf inspected on Tuesday before noon the southern border.
The minister visited south of the Litani sector where he was briefed on the tasks of the army in the south, then he went to the UNIFIL’s headquarters in Naqoura and met with Major General, Michael Perry.
Sarraf praised the exerted efforts in a bid to protect the border, confirming “continuous cooperation with UNIFIL at all levels.”
Later Sarraf headed to the French contingent where he was received by the French Defense Minister, Jean Yves le Drian.
After touring the Blue Line, Sarraf visited the Italian contingent in Labouneh.
“We are keen on boosting cooperation with UNIFIL and we are attached to Lebanon’s sovereignty,” Sarraf stressed.
