NNA – Caretaker Foreign Minister, Gibran Bassil, said, “Our national interest makes us concerned enough to have a democratic Syria, free from terrorist organizations, whereby Syrians alone decide their fate.”
Minister Bassil’s stance came Tuesday in the context of a joint press conference with the Higher Representative of EU Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, at the headquarters of EU Commission in Brussels.
Mogherini, for her part, welcomed electing General Michel Aoun as President for the Lebanese Republic, hoping that all Lebanese politicians would go now for positive, constructive dialogue.
