NNA – Foreign Affairs Minister, Gibran Bassil, said that the national pact was the cornerstone for all Lebanese, explaining that it has the force to release out any sort of oppression against any Lebanese segment without any need to resort to a foreign power to seek any help in this regard.
Minister Bassil’s stance came Tuesday in the context of the regular weekly meeting for the Bloc of Reform and Change in Rabieh.
Bassil said that in yesterday’s dialogue session the Free Patriotic Movement asked attendees to define the pact “which is our ceiling and protector, yet some wanted to divert the subject to another point but failed with us in this concern.”
He indicated that he did not receive any response from the attendees regarding FPM’s position vis-a-vis dialogue and cabinet sessions.
He underscored, “We are living a crisis of system and nation and we will adopt all popular and political means in favor of serving the pact and rejecting any backward move to the period between 1990 and 2005.”
