Bassil: Entente is not complete without Druze community, all Christians

NNA – Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Gebran Bassil, said that “the agreements can create a reassuring atmosphere at the national level. However, these agreements are not completed without Druze community and all Christians.”

Minister Bassil’s fresh stance came on Sunday during a ceremony organized by Edde municipality to honor students who passed their official exams under the patronage of National Education and Higher Education Minister, Elias Bou Saab, and Bassil.

“We notice today a large national entente. It can lead to the election of a head of State. It was first founded on the agreement with Hezbollah, then with Lebanese Forces, and then with the Future. No one should be excluded. A national unity is required during the second phase in order to help Lebanon face all challenges,” Bassil added.

He hoped a state based on a National pact and equality between Christians and Muslims will be formed.

“A constant national pact, a modernized constitution and laws in favor of the people, are the norms required for the creation of a strong state,” he highlighted.

Bou Saab, for his part, said that General Michel Aoun would be elected President of the Republic on the 31st October, stressing the importance of a national balance.

“The partnership with other Lebanese parties paves the way for the creation of a nation to which you aspire,” he told the students.

“Disagreements in political opinions are normal. The document of entente between FPM and LF started to be successful. We want this agreement to expand in order to reach other parties with whom we have still not communicated,” he concluded
