DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:55 A.M.) – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad congratulated the recently elected Lebanese President Michel Aoun over a phone call on Monday, starting a new era between their respective governments.
According to a government source, Assad offered the newly elected Lebanese President his best wishes after a short conversation.
Aoun was originally forced into exile in 1989 by the Syrian Government under Bashar’s father, Hafezh Al-Assad.
