President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, chaired on Thursday the first meeting of the Higher Defense Council and delivered a word in which he tackled the role of the security services at home and abroad.
The President defined those apparatuses’ actions against the Israeli enemy and in the face of terrorism, stressing “the need for proactive confrontation and utmost coordination between all security services.”
Aoun set the mechanisms that must be followed in this regard and stressed “the need to maintain stability,” reminding of the provisions of his oath, and highlighting “the necessity of coordination between the various apparatuses and the importance of coherence between the judiciary and security forces.”
It is worth noting that the decisions of the HDR meeting shall remain confidential.
