Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, met on Wednesday at Dar al-Fatwa with the Egyptian ambassador to Lebanon, Nazih al-Najjari, who expressed his country’s commitment to the restoration of security and stability and to the resumption of institutional work in Lebanon.
“It is always an honor for us to listen to the Mufti’s point of view and his assessment of the situation on the Arab scene, mainly Lebanon, especially as this country is about to enter a new period with the imminent formation of a new government. We want Lebanon to move towards stability and institutional work,” he said at the end of the meeting.
In addition, the Mufti received a delegation from the Union of Civil Organizations of the Islamic World and then the leader of the Lebanese Peace Party, Roger Eddé, with whom he discussed the “Aleppo massacre, whose responsibility must be assumed by all Arabs.”
