NNA – Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, has arrived in Beirut on a two-day visit, NNA field reporter said on Monday.
“Iran supports Lebanese national unity as this unity provides tranquility, security and stability to Lebanon,” Boroujerdi stressed from the airport.
He hoped a near breakthrough to all pending files in Lebanon and the region.
Boroujerdi is scheduled to meet during his stay in Beirut with Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, Palestinian factions and Muslims scholars.
Boroujerdi praised the Lebanese army achievements and its role against Israel and terrorism.
Boroujerdi also praised Lebanese national unity, adding “it is the sole guarantor to preserve Lebanon”.
