Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Gibran Bassil, said during the inauguration of a municipal building in Faraya on Saturday that now that the Christians have regained their power, more work can be done, advising everyone to” get used” to the new shape of government.
Bassil promised long-term plans for the country’s water, electricity, energy resources and economy.
“We fully realize the importance of the economy, starting from municipalities all the way to ministries.”
“This is the first time since 1990 that we see a chartered Cabinet where Christians are properly represented,” he said.
“We have restored the proper representation to the presidency; and representation would be even better in the Cabinet and parliament.”
The Minister noted that he was open to all electoral laws as long as they provided proper representation for all Lebanese away from narrow interests.
