Syrian Army Restores Water Supply in Aleppo for Civilians’ Use

The Syrian Army has restored functionality of an important pumping station called Suleiman al Halyabi, to supply drinking water to residents of Aleppo.

When the militants of al-Nusra Front were leaving the area, they mined the station and the surrounding area. The terrorists blocked the flow of water to put pressure on the civilians. However, with the coming of the Syrian Army ten explosive devices were defused managing to save the turbine and pump from serious damage. “The maintenance crew immediately commenced restoration of the water pumping station,” an employee of the station told Sputnik. Now the residents for the first time in the past few years can enjoy a fresh water supply around the clock.
