Kanaan after bloc’s meeting: parliament’s term extension, 1960 law worse than void

“Change and Reform” bloc held on Tuesday its weekly meeting at Rabieh.

Deputy Ibrahim Kanaan confirmed following the meeting that “extension of the parliament’s mandate and the 1960 law are both worse than vacuum.”

The MP said that his bloc is keen on reaching understanding with the Marada bloc during this era.

“We have submitted several initiatives to the Marada leader,” the MP said, adding that they haven’t received answers regarding all the initiatives and laws.

On the other hand, the lawmaker confirmed that corruption and squander are not in harmony with the era of reform.

Commenting on the issue of revenues, Kanaan called for the implementation of the law before raising taxes on people, urging “to fund wage scale by ending corruption.”
